This program is a four-semester program that trains students to care for sick, injured, convalescent, and disabled patients under the direction of a physician or registered nurse.

Basic theory is coordinated with clinical practice under the direction of competent instructors and nursing staff of affiliate hospitals and institutions.

Trainees will give direct patient care and perform certain tasks, including assessment, administration of treatments and medications; assist in preparing a care plan, document care, and monitor client progress.

Course Description

This program is a two-semester program that trains students to provide basic nursing care under the supervision of Registered Nurses. In the U.S., some states allow LPNs / LVNs to supervise nurisng aides.

Basic theory is coordinated with clinical practice under the direction of competent instructors and nursing staff of affiliate hospitals and institutions.

Trainees are expected to develop competencies in providing personal care and physical, psychosocial and emotional support to clients as well as perform emergency, safety and infection control procedures.

This course focuses on the recognition of common home emergencies such as bleeding, fractures, airway obstruction and cardiac arrest. Trainees become skilled in administering first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation and in rescue situations.
