Why should anyone consider being a healthcare worker? |
|
-
|
Now
more than ever, is the best time to go into the healthcare
professions especially in the field of nursing and caregiving.
There are many reasons, the biggest of which is the significantly
increasing number of the elderly population needing care
and attention especially in the industrialized countries
of the world. For Filipinos, this a legitimate option
towards a better financial future as incomes of as much
as 10 to 20 times their earnings here in the Philippines
can materialize. |

| 2.
Can CHP assist its graduates in finding employment after graduation? |
|
-
|
Yes.
Through the Work Assistance Program (WAP), CHP trainees
are assured of assistance as they are provided with information
of opportunities for healthcare work employment both here
and abroad. CHP graduates are not limited to employment
in one country or with one agency. As a result, a CHP
trainee has higher chances of employment compared to other
training centers and schools. |
|
| 3.
Are CHP graduates assured of employment? |
|
-
|
A
CHP graduate's employment depends on many factors, foremost
of which is the job offer that comes from an employer.
CHP strives to have many affiliates so that job offers
may be generated. These job offers are the direct responsibilities
of CHP's affiliate companies. In short, employment abroad
- although never assured by CHP or by any other training
center, agency or institution - would have a higher percentage
of happening through CHP. |
|
| 4.
What about financial assistance? |
|
-
|
Financial
assistance is possible again through CHP's affiliates.
Some companies offer "salary deduction", "fly-now-pay-later"
schemes and the like. These are on a case-to-case basis. |
|
| 5.
Are the training fees reasonable? Does CHP have "easy payment"
plans? |
|
-
|
Yes.
Currently, CHP adopts a going-rate policy in its training
fees - meaning to say that the fees are neither the highest
nor the lowest in the industry. Fees may vary from branch-to-branch
but schemes such as "low down payment" and "staggered
payments" are common. Considering the high standard
of training and the added services however, one certainly
gets the best value-for-money training at CHP. |
|
| 6.
Is CHP TESDA-registered? |
|
-
|
Yes.
All CHP branches offering the Home Health Aide / Caregiver
training program are TESDA-registered. In fact, all technical-vocational
courses that will be offered by CHP in the future shall
be registered by TESDA. Because CHP is about high standard
healthcare training, TESDA registration is a basic, minimum
requirement. |
|
| 7.
How qualified are the instructors of CHP? |
|
-
|
On
a nationwide level, CHP boasts of some of the most qualified
instructors. Many branches have licensed medical doctors,
nurses, physical therapists, nutritionists, psychologists
and other professionals in their faculty roster. As a
rule, CHP instructors only handle subjects they are qualified
to teach. |
|
| 8.
How is the performance of CHP graduates in embassy interviews? |
|
-
|
So
far, almost 100% of CHP graduates have been successful
in passing their interviews at foreign embassies. These
people have credited their good training at CHP as one
of the major reasons for passing this very important step
in going abroad. |
|
| 9.
What about people who are working but want to take up a CHP
course? |
|
-
|
Most
CHP branches offer several time slots for people to choose
from in order to suit their schedules and activities.
For example, the Home Health Aide / Caregiver course normally
has morning, afternoon and evening options. Because the
evening sessions would result in lesser hours every week,
the length of time to finish the whole course would naturally
be longer compared to the morning or afternoon sessions. |
|
| 10.
What are the minimum requirements for someone who wants to enroll? |
|
-
|
People
who have at least finished high school, are at least 18
years old and physically fit can enroll for the Home Health
Aide / Caregiver course at CHP any time. Applicants are
required to submit the following: |
